Saturday Song: Yes

I love this. They got old and turned their rocking hit acoustic, but I love it. Sounds more like a love song this way. I'm sappy, I know, I know...

  1. Ah! Yes. Fragile is one of my favorite albums of all time!

Great version. I will have this stuck in my head all day. (which is good)

  2. I was writing a comment, and it kept growing and growing. I had no choice but to turn it into a post of my own.

  3. Yes (band)

Yes was previously known as the psychedelically named Mabel Greer’s Toyshop

This week I undertook the 45 minute drive to Fry's to find a connector cable which it turned out they did not have. To add insult to injury on the way out I saw a HUGE rack of cd's which included one from Yes.

Top of the rack was the 35th anniversary special edition Fragile cd. Given that Fragile was one of the first RECORDS I bought from the Record Club of America I felt very, very old.

  5. Dig this Pops.... King Crimson

The keeper of the city keys
    Put shutters on the dreams.
I wait outside the pilgrims door
    With insufficient schemes.
    The black queen chants
    The funeral march,
    The cracked brass bells will ring;
To summon back the fire witch
To the court of the crimson king.

  6. While researching late 60's Progressive Rock Bands, Genre's and Lyrics I became fascinated with King Crimson's reference to the "fire witch"..... so here's a picture I did for "fire witch".

  7. I saw Asia at Summerfest this year. We didn't stay for the whole thing, it wasn't that good, don't get the wrong idea about me.

But each memeber got to play a song from his previous band, so Steve Howe did Long Distance Runaround. With all the freaky guitar work. It was quite good, actually.

But Howe looks like he's several months dead. Seriously dude. Get some rest. Have a sandwich.
